Reports of iPhone 15 Overheating

Korean YouTuber BullsLab conducted a test that showed the iPhone 15 reaching temperatures as high as 115 degrees Fahrenheit.

Apple’s Response

Apple has acknowledged the overheating issue and is actively working on a fix. The company has identified a few conditions that can cause the iPhone 15 to run warmer than expected.

According to Apple, the increased background activity during the first few days of setting up or restoring the device may result in the device feeling warmer. Additionally, certain apps running in the background, such as Instagram and Uber, contribute to the higher temperatures.

However, Apple has stressed that this is not a hardware issue but rather a software bug introduced with the iOS 17 update. Similar temperature issues were observed in the previous iPhone model, the iPhone 14.

Resolution and Software Update

Fortunately, Apple assures customers that the overheating problem will be resolved with an upcoming iOS software update. It is recommended to keep your iPhone 15 or iPhone 15 Pro up to date by regularly checking for software updates in the Settings menu.

While Apple has not provided a specific timeline, it is expected that the fix will be included in either the iOS 17.1 update or a smaller incremental update like iOS 17.0.3.

In the meantime, users are advised to give their iPhone 15 devices time to complete background processes during the initial setup period, as this may contribute to the heating issue.
