Netflix Adds Iconic Game Dead Cells to Its Library

Netflix has expanded its game library by adding the universally-acclaimed game Dead Cells. As part of its Halloween promotion called “Netflix & Thrill,” the streaming platform announced Dead Cells: Netflix Edition. The game, which combines elements of Metroidvania and roguelike genres, allows players to control a headless blob-infused ghost. Inspired by the Castlevania series, Dead Cells offers a sprawling world filled with secrets and power-ups, and its procedurally generated maps provide a fresh challenge with each run.

Netflix subscribers can access Dead Cells on both iOS and Android devices. However, it is unclear whether the game will be available to play on supported televisions. The release date for Dead Cells: Netflix Edition has not been revealed, but it is expected to launch before Halloween.

In addition to Dead Cells, Netflix also announced an enhanced version of the horror puzzler game Slayaway Camp. Players assume the role of a cute psychotic slasher named Skullface, solving isometric puzzles while eliminating camp counselors. The release date for Slayaway Camp: Netflix & Kill has not been confirmed either.

True to its nature, Netflix games are ad-free and have no in-app purchases, providing players with a seamless gaming experience.

There are also rumors of an animated game adaptation in the works, but details about it are scarce. Given Netflix’s foray into animated game adaptations in recent times, there is speculation that the game could premiere on the streaming platform. Netflix has previously released successful animated shows based on popular game franchises such as Castlevania.
