Emoji icons accompany Snapchat Streaks to signify different milestones. A smiley face appears next to the name of someone you frequently communicate with. A fire emoji indicates that you are on a Streak with that person, and the number next to the flame represents the number of consecutive days.

Reasons for Losing a Streak

If you or your friend fails to send a Snap within 24 hours, the Streak will end. Connection issues, bugs, or updates can also cause the loss of a Streak.

How to Recover a Snapchat Streak

To recover a Snapchat Streak, you have two options. If the Streak just ended and you see a Restore button with an orange fire emoji next to your friend’s name, you can use the in-app Snapstreak Restore function. If this option is not available, you can submit a Snapstreak restoration request to Snapchat support.

Using the Snapstreak Restore Function

If the Restore button is available, click on it and confirm the action. This option is only available for 24 hours after a three-day Streak. Snapchat+ users get five free restores, while free accounts get one free restore.

Sending a Restoration Request

If the in-app option is not available, go to the Snapchat Support website and fill out the Snapstreak restoration request form. Provide details about your account and the lost Streak, including the number of consecutive days and any relevant information about the issue. Submit the request and wait for a reply from Snapchat.

Keep Your Snapstreaks Going

If a Streak naturally ends, you will have to use the in-app option to restore it. Remember not to rely too heavily on Streaks and maintain a healthy balance with your interactions on Snapchat.
