Connections Puzzle Number 100: The Solutions
It’s time for puzzle number 100 of the Connections game! Whether you’re finishing your 100th or joining for the first time, here are the solutions to today’s game.
How to Play Connections
The Connections game can be found on the New York Times website or in their Crossword app. The game board consists of 16 tiles, each with a word or phrase. The goal is to select a group of four tiles that have something in common. This can be based on similarity in meaning or wordplay.
Once you’ve selected your group of four, hit the Submit button. If correct, the category and color will be revealed. If incorrect, you can try again. The game is won when all four groups are correctly identified, but making four mistakes ends the game and reveals the answers.
How to Win Connections
Connections puzzles are designed to be tricky, often with overlapping groups. To win, make sure your group of four contains only those specific items. If you’re stuck, consider looking at the words that seem unrelated to the others or seek helpful hints.

How I Solved Today’s Connections
At first glance, there were many pairs that appeared to be menswear related: CUFF and LINK, BOND and MARTINI, TAB and COLLAR. But I was looking for the groups of four.
I focused on the word BOOKMARK, which didn’t seem to match anything. It reminded me of browser bookmarks, which could connect to TAB and HISTORY, representing the web pages I visit. WINDOW, although slightly off-topic, still related to browsers. I submitted this group and got a hit.
Next, I considered what BOND could represent besides James Bond. It could be a RELATION, LINK, or TIE. This grouping also turned out to be correct.
With TAB and TIE eliminated, only four clothing-related words remained: CUFF, COLLAR, POCKET, and BUTTON. After some consideration, I submitted this group with MARTINI, LAUNDRY, and JOKE, realizing they all share the characteristic of being dry. Although the correct connection for DOZEN was that it belonged to the category of things that are dirty. Despite not fully getting it right, I was close!
