Taiwan to Investigate Huawei’s Taiwanese Suppliers for Possible Violation of US Sanctions

Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs will investigate Taiwanese suppliers working with Huawei for potential US sanctions violations. The probe will determine whether these suppliers have aided Huawei’s chipmaking factories in China. The investigation comes as the US attempts to counter China’s domestic chip manufacturing efforts. Additionally, concerns have been raised over Huawei’s advanced chips in 5G smartphones.
