WhatsApp Chats Backed Up to Google Drive Will Soon Count Towards Storage Space
Starting in December 2023, backing up your WhatsApp conversation to Google Drive will no longer be free for WhatsApp beta users. This change will gradually roll out to all Android devices. Personal Google accounts come with 15GB of free storage, but it may be easy to exceed this limit depending on your usage. Google provides storage management tools to help you remove large files or photos, and you can also delete items within WhatsApp to exclude them from backups. Purchasing additional storage with Google One is an option as well. Workspace accounts are not affected by this storage change.
