The jury declared that Google had been operating an illegal monopoly with its Google Play app store and billing service. The ruling highlights Google’s tying of its app store and billing payment service, as well as its anticompetitive “Project Hug” deals. Google paid alternative app stores and game developers not to compete with the Google Play store.
