Menthe / Fenugreek Seeds Tambli Recipe

Here’s a bowlful of simple, healthy and comforting side dish, that’s great to cool your body naturally. Tambli is a very traditional Karnataka dish which has been made by grannies for many years. It is a mild, medicinal and soothing dish that makes a meal wholesome. Tambli can be considered as medicated buttermilk, a type of raita, or a cold soup. This particular tambli, made with fenugreek seeds, is also a great option for those with diabetes.

To make the Menthe/Fenugreek Seeds Tambli, start by roasting fenugreek seeds and dry red chillies. Once they turn brownish and aromatic, blend them with grated coconut, yogurt, and salt to make a smooth paste. Then, transfer this mixture to a serving bowl and add the remaining yogurt. In a separate pan, make a seasoning by heating ghee, mustard seeds, and curry leaves. Pour this seasoning onto the tambli and give it a gentle stir.
