Narasimhan recently revealed his beverage of choice in an interview with Fortune. He explained that the drink reminds him of the coffee he used to have in his hometown in India.

The 56-year-old executive, who was born and raised in Pune, a city in southwestern India, moved to the US in the early 1990s. He mentioned that drinking this specific coffee with skim milk helps replicate the taste of South Indian coffee.

Despite being the CEO of Starbucks, Narasimhan’s favorite drink is relatively affordable. The price for a cup of the Doppio Espresso Macchiato with hot milk is around $3, depending on the location.

Interestingly, when Narasimhan first took over as CEO, he spent six months working as a barista in Starbucks stores. He shared a memorable incident where he burned his hand on cheese from a sandwich while on duty.

Although Starbucks representatives did not respond to a request for comment from Business Insider, it’s clear that Narasimhan’s personal taste in coffee aligns with the brand he leads.
