GOP Senator says Rep. Matt Gaetz boasted about using ED drugs with sports drinks
During an interview with CNN, Senator Markwayne Mullin revealed that Representative Matt Gaetz had bragged to his fellow lawmakers about consuming erectile dysfunction (ED) drugs with sports drinks. Mullin stated that Gaetz spoke openly about crushing the ED medicine and taking it along with energy drinks to enhance his stamina. However, Mullin clarified that these incidents occurred prior to Gaetz’s marriage. The senator also recalled another instance involving Gaetz’s alleged involvement with a 17-year-old girl.
Mullin criticized the media for not giving serious attention to the accusation of Gaetz sleeping with an underage girl, suggesting that Gaetz displayed inappropriate videos of his sexual encounters on the House floor to fellow Congress members. The Justice Department initiated an investigation into Gaetz’s alleged sexual trafficking of a minor in 2021, but ultimately, no charges were brought against him. In addition, CNN previously reported that Gaetz had shown nude photos of women and boasted about his sexual exploits to his colleagues.
Mullin theorized that Gaetz’s outspokenness and desire for attention were major factors in his attempts to oust former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy. He stated that Gaetz had become known after opposing McCarthy in November and had been determined to remain in the spotlight. Gaetz, however, claimed that his desire to remove McCarthy was not personal in a recent interview with Fox News.
Currently, there is no duly elected speaker as McCarthy has declared that he will not seek the speakership again. This situation could potentially lead to a partial government shutdown if Congress fails to reach an agreement on long-term government funding before November 17.
